New CEO at Lore Group; more appointments

Executives in the hospitality industry have taken new roles. Here’s a look:

David Taylor appointed CEO of Lore Group
Lore Group, the company behind Sea Containers London, Pulitzer Amsterdam, Riggs Washington DC and Lyle Washington DC, has promoted David Taylor (shown above) to CEO. The appointment comes as the group prepares to open One Hundred Shoreditch, the company’s sixth hotel and second in London.

With more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Taylor previously served as the company’s COO overseeing operations at the group’s hotels including opening Lyle Washington DC in April 2021 and steering the properties globally throughout the pandemic.

Prior to joining Lore Group, he helped launch the EDITION brand in 2013 to lead the Principal Hotel portfolio for Starwood Capital, where he held the role of COO.

Jenn Thompson

Hotel Equities taps Jenn Thompson as new VP, operations
Hotel owner, operator and development firm Hotel Equities (HE) has added Jenn Thompson as VP, operations. In her new role, she reports directly to Peter Tziahanas, SVP, operations, and provides support and oversight of key assets to include HE’s owned properties within the firm’s growing U.S. portfolio of hotels.

Thompson began her career at age 19 as the youngest GM in the Western Americas for Marriott International, then advanced to open hotels in six states and worked with every major hotel brand in both focused and full-service capacities. Among her career highlights, she opened the first Hyatt in the state of Oregon, then took the reins as GM of the Bidwell Marriott Portland in Oregon, before holding roles as area GM for Atrium Hotels. Most recently, she held a corporate position within Interstate Hotels & Resorts, supporting transitions and major renovation projects in its portfolio.

Nick Bosworth joins Choice Hotels EMEA
Supporting its European growth strategy, Choice Hotels EMEA has appointed a new director of marketing, brand and loyalty. Nick Bosworth has joined the company from Accor, where he held a global brand leadership role for the Mövenpick hotel brand. Before the acquisition of the brand by Accor, he led the brand, marketing, CRM, loyalty and PR activities for Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, and has held strategic marketing roles with IHG and WorldHotels.

Bosworth is responsible for leading a pan-European marketing team with a primary focus on driving performance through direct booking channels. He manages all aspects of customer loyalty and engagement and will evolve strategies to build consumer affinity for Choice Hotels’ portfolio of brands throughout the region. His role is also responsible for the execution of loyalty and non-loyalty campaigns and promotions, including branding and advertising and managing key partnerships.

He reports to Helen ter Beek, senior director, commercial & operations who oversees the company’s core value proposition of brand management, revenue and performance optimization and a dedicated franchise services team supporting Choice Hotels EMEA franchisees.
