HB Exclusive: PM Hotel Group’s Joseph Bojanowski on Sightline merger
Hospitality management companies PM Hotel Group and Sightline Hospitality have merged, adding 22 properties to the PM Hotel Group portfolio that are either open or set to open within the coming months, largely as part of the Modus by PM Hotel Group lifestyle division. The newly merged entity will continue to operate under the PM Hotel Group name.
“Sightline Hospitality was an incredibly attractive company to merge with, as they share our vision for redefining luxury and lifestyle hospitality and our dedication to operational excellence,” said Joseph Bojanowski, president, PM Hotel Group in an exclusive interview with Hotel Business. “Their expertise in experiential travel and innovative property management perfectly complements our operational strengths and will help deepen our portfolio. We were particularly drawn to Sightline’s diverse collection of distinctive properties and their strong presence in highly sought-after markets, especially in the mountain regions, along the West Coast, and in Hawaii. This geographical expansion aligns perfectly with the growth strategy of our lifestyle and unconventional hospitality division, Modus Hotels.”
He added, “The merger came about as we recognized the evolving demands of today’s discerning travelers. We saw in Sightline a partner that could help us meet these changing needs while setting new benchmarks for innovation in our industry. Our shared commitment to creating meaningful experiences for guests is what ultimately made this merger a natural fit.”
Sightline brings in a portfolio with a strong presence in the mountain regions and along the West Coast, as well as marking PM Hotel Group’s debut in the Hawaiian Islands.
“This expansion not only grows our footprint from coast to coast but also strengthens our position in the upscale and experiential hospitality sectors,” said Bojanowski. “Some of Sightline’s properties that we are especially excited about include the Queen Kapiolani in Honolulu, just steps from Oahu’s iconic Waikiki Beach, and Dr. Wilkinson’s Backyard Resort & Mineral Springs in Calistoga, CA, with its focus on wellness including healing mineral waters and mud baths.”
The meger also introduces brands like RESET and evo Hotels to PM Hotel Group’s portfolio, deepening and strengthening their distinct verticals of lifestyle and experiential travel.
“These brands are at the forefront of the experiential travel trend, which aligns perfectly with evolving consumer preferences as travelers now view proximity to nature and outdoor adventure as the new luxury,” noted the PM Hotel Group president. “Reset is an innovative new hotel brand that offers immersive, nature-centric experiences. Their first property, opening in Joshua Tree in Q1 2025, will provide guests with a unique blend of comfort and adventure in a stunning natural setting. This brand caters to travelers seeking meaningful connections with nature and aligns well with the increasing popularity of the national park system. evo Hotels, with locations in Salt Lake City and Tahoe City, embody the spirit of adventure that many modern travelers seek. These properties combine urban comfort with easy access to outdoor activities, making them ideal for guests who want to explore the surrounding natural landscapes without sacrificing city conveniences.”
He said that Kirk Pederson, president, Sightline Hospitality, will continue to play a key role in the combined organization, while the goal is to integrate the two organizations “to create an even stronger, more innovative company.”
He continued, “We’re looking forward to combining our strengths, sharing best practices and working together to set new standards in the industry and redefine perceptions of luxury lifestyle hospitality. Our merged entity will continue to operate under the PM Hotel Group name, but we plan to seamlessly integrate Sightline’s team and create a collaborative environment where all employees can contribute to our shared success and growth. We believe that by bringing together the best of both organizations, we’ll be better positioned to deliver exceptional experiences for our guests and drive value for our property owners.”
Pederson said of the merger, “At Sightline Hospitality, the core mission has always been to craft exceptional and immersive experiences for our guests. This merger with PM Hotel Group represents a strategic opportunity to combine our strengths and redefine the boundaries of hospitality excellence. We are excited to integrate our unique culture, our people and expertise with PM Hotel Group’s established record of industry leadership. Together, we are poised to set new standards in guest satisfaction and property management.”
